Acts 1:8 Ministries
Our missions focus at First Baptist Church is global and based on Act 1:8, where we are called by Jesus to go to "Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the ends of the earth". The great commision in Matthew 28:17 calls us to "go and make disciples of all the nations". We don't view this as short term because our mission is 365 days a year. This Global focus includes local missions, statewide missions, regional missions and foreign missions.
Our Thanksgiving meal and "Operations in as much" touches the local community and puts us face to face with the people God called us too serve everday. Our statewide missions have included trips to the flood damaged coastal region of Grifton NC. Our regional missions have include Summerville WV(2008), Columbiana AL(2009) thru our Family on missions and our Youth traveled to Philedelphia PA. in 2009. In 2010 we partnered with First Missionary Baptist Church and God allowed us to serve Thanksgiving Dinner to over 500 people. We were blessed to send 2 ministry teams to the foreign countrys of South Africa and the Dominican Republic. Lord willing, our ministry team, "Family on Missions" will be heading to Morehead City NC in July 2011.
We are the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. Come join us in our efforts to Glorify God and make Him known thru missions as we serve our fellow man.
