Pastor Jim grew up in Salisbury, NC. He is a graduate of Word of Life Bible Institute, NY; Tennessee Temple University and received his Masters in Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. He is currently working towards his Doctor of Ministry. Pastor Jim began preaching at First Baptist in November of 2007. He and his wife Dorothy have 2 girls, Christina and Sarah.
Rev. Tom Anderson
Tom is the Associate Pastor for Pastoral Care and has been on staff at First Baptist Church since 1984. He has a B.A. from Auburn University, an M.Ed. from N.C. State University and an MDiv. from Southeastern Seminary. Tom is married to Connie and has two adult children Will and Emily.
Director of Children’s Ministries
Prior to leading children and families as Children’s Director at FBC, Debbie served as a public school teacher in the Cabarrus County School System. She is a graduate of Appalachian State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts in Elementary Education (K-6). Debbie is the mother of Isaac Hammonds and was married for 23 years to the late W. Steve Hammonds who passed away in 2013.
Howard became Worship Leader at FBC in 2013. He received the Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degree from the University of South Carolina and did Doctoral work in Music Theory at Florida State University where he taught Theory, Form and Analysis and directed the Jazz Pop Vocal ensemble. He also taught at USC and Columbia College and is a woodwind specialist and arranger. He has lead church music and Education programs and served with his wife Beverly in full time Christian ministry since 1985. They enjoy keeping and loving their three granddaughters.
Janice joined the staff at FBC in August 2005 as the Preschool Director, eventually moving into the position of Music and Education Secretary. She attended the University of Southern Maine where she studied Business and Communication. Her hobbies include playing the flute, exercising, and reading. Janice lives in Concord with her husband, Michael, and two children, Julia and Christopher.
Leslie joined the staff at FBC in July 2008. She attended Lenoir-Rhyne College and is a graduate of Life Christian University. She re-enrolled at LCU in September 2011 to further her education. She is a Pastor’s daughter who enjoys horseback riding, reading, gardening, and spending time with her family. Leslie resides in Richfield with her husband, Quintin. Between them, they have 7 children and 10 grandchildren.
