First Baptist Church Young HeartsOnce you get past fifty, the fun has just begun. Whether retired, just plain tired, or active as ever, the over-50 group of First Baptist Church provides fellowship, day trips, refreshment, ministry, and times of valuable interaction with other over 50 believers in Christ. Here are a few of the things planned for our Seniors in the coming months.
The Senior adults meet each moth for a lunch and program of interest to them that is inspirational,
educational or entertaining.
On – going Ministries:
Four teams, each meeting once a month comprise the CARE teams. These teams mail a weekly letter of inspiration
to our homebound members, remember members with birthday cards and send cards to the sick and bereaved. In
addition, the Young Hearts deliver fruit baskets to the homebound at Christmas and Easter baskets during the Easter
season. Many senior adults are involved in other church-wide ministries here at First Baptist.
The Young hearts enjoy taking day trips throughout the year to places of interest. We schedule a “Mystery Trip” in the spring as a one day trip and also schedule a three to four day trip in the Spring as well.
Thursday, Feb. 21 Lunch at FBC at Noon followed by the laughter of Dennis Swanberg, “8-Track Guy in an iPod World.”
Thursday, Mar. 21 Lunch at Golden Corral at 11:45 am followed by delivery of Easter Baskets to our homebound members.
Thursday, Apr. 18 Mystery Trip leaves church at 8:00 am.
